Mark Alan Esparza

I wanted to be a hairstylist ever since I can remember. It’s in my blood. My mom and grandma were both hairstylists, and my grandpa owned his own barbershop well into his 80’s.

After graduating from San Jose State University with a degree in sociology, I decided to explore the beauty industry by enrolling in the cosmetology program at San Jose City College. 

I quickly discovered that my passion lies in enhancing the beauty of each person sitting in my chair through creative haircuts, cutting edge color services and beautiful styling.

After nine years of working behind the chair full time, I moved to New York to pursue the next phase of my career: working in fashion.

Under the direction of some incredible hairstylists (including Lucas Wilson, Guido Palau and Thom Priano) I have been able to work backstage at fashion shows in New York, Milan, and Paris.

I’ve also accumulated a strong editorial and commercial client base including Victoria’s Secret, Pink, Billy Reid, Esquire, Harper's Bazaar Brasil, Heroine, Interview, GQ (Russia, Turkey), Glow Recipe, L'Officiel, Love Want, Macy's, Man About Town, Metal, Numéro Netherlands, ODDA, Paper, PopSugar, Rollacoaster, Steve Madden, Tush, V Man, Vogue Greece, Vogue India, Ulta, Urban Outfitters and Wonderland amongst many others.

My haircuts have been seen on models in worldwide campaigns and runways for Balenciaga, Gucci, Theory, Maison Kitsune, Rick Owens, Coach and many more.
